MS Discusses Strategic Partnership with Bolivia, Expands Energy and Logistics Integration

The Government of Mato Grosso do Sul participated, in Brasília, in a strategic meeting with authorities from Brazil and Bolivia to discuss the strengthening of economic relations and the expansion of integration in the areas of energy and logistics.

The meeting took place at the Itamaraty Palace and was attended by leaders from both countries, focusing on actions that directly impact regional development and bilateral cooperation.

Energy as a central axis of integration

One of the main topics debated was the energy sector, especially Bolivian natural gas imported by Brazil through Mato Grosso do Sul. The resource is considered strategic for the state's industrial development and represents an important source of revenue.

Furthermore, an agreement was signed for the interconnection of the electrical systems between the two countries. The project foresees the connection between the province of Germán Busch, in Bolivia, and the municipality of Corumbá, with the installation of transmission infrastructure and an approximate capacity of 420 megawatts.

The initiative will allow the exchange of energy between Brazil and Bolivia, ensuring greater energy security and the possibility of cooperation in emergency situations.

Logistical integration under discussion

Another important point discussed was the logistical integration between Mato Grosso do Sul and Bolivia. Among the projects mentioned are the strengthening of the Paraguay River waterway and the railway connection between the West Network, in Brazil, and the Eastern Railway, already in operation in Bolivian territory.

These initiatives aim to improve the flow of production and increase the region's competitiveness in the South American scenario.

MS as a strategic hub in South America

With a privileged location in the center of the continent and an extensive border with Bolivia, Mato Grosso do Sul is consolidating itself as an important logistical corridor. Integration with neighboring countries expands the state's potential as a route for exports and the circulation of goods.

The expectation is that the agreements and discussions will advance towards the consolidation of structural investments, strengthening the regional economy and promoting greater integration between Brazil and Bolivia.
